Finally...

Well, we finally got it accomplished. We managed to paint our master bedroom a few weeks ago. We still have a long way to go before we get all the rooms done. But at least this one is finished. We had some help doing this. When my brother Brett was here for July 4th, he drew all the lines on the wall for the diamonds. Then Marc and I taped them off and I painted. And then I used upholstery tacks for all the points. I was very pleased with how it turned out. We're going to use red as an accent color. I was going for kind of a french look and I feel like we're part way there. We still have paintings and other things to hang on the wall. Then we'll carry these two colors, plus khaki and red into the master bathroom. I'm very excited about it all. Anyway, I just had to show the beginnings of the huge process. If anyone has any suggestions about what we could add to our room (I know, I know, we need more pillows on the bed...just haven't gotten that far yet), then please let us know. I'm open to any suggestions.

Happy Birthday, Maggie

It's hard to believe that our baby turned 2 a few weeks ago. I know I'm late getting these posted, but so much has happened since then. But that's for a later post. Anyway, back to the task at hand. Yes, Maggie is now 2. It seems like just yesterday I was in the hospital waiting patiently to have her. We had a small get together (just family) for her birthday this year. It seems that with all the chaos that was going on, I didn't have time to plan any kind of party for her. But she didn't seem to mind at all. She had an ice-cream cake (which she loved) and we shared her birthday with Great-Grandpa Rader who turned 90 this year.

She really loved her cake!
Opening her present from great-grandpa and great-grandma Rader. Turned out to be a baby doll which she loves. We can't have enough of those around here!
Presents from grandpa and grandma Rader. Pop-ons and play-dough. We've had a lot of fun with both of those!

Her first 4-wheeler. It only goes 2 mph, but it's fast enough for her. This was from Marc and I and also Mimi and Papa. We've had quite a few little accidents with it, i.e. running into the walls, the kitchen table, etc. But all the girls really enjoy it!

Yum...Yum

The girls had spaghetti for dinner last night. This was Maggie's first time of doing the entire thing by herself with a "big person's fork". Needless to say, I think most of it ended up on her lap.

Haircuts

I took the girls a few weeks ago to get some much needed haircuts. They all needed them, especially Maggie. She had never had her hair cut. They all did very well. They sat very still and let the stylist do her job. Their haircuts are very cute and summery now. Here are a few pictures to show the whole process.
