A Beautiful Day

We have had some beautiful weather lately. And when I've been home, the girls and I have taken full advantage of the warm weather. We've been spending a lot of time outside playing on the swings and going for walks. Last weekend, Emma was having a playdate at her friend Sarah's house so Lily, Maggie and I decided to go for a walk. We didn't know how far we would go, but decided to just have some fun. We headed out the back yard and into the field behind our house. All of that land belongs to Marc's dad, so we knew it wouldn't be a problem walking through the field. The girls had also seen grandpa and great-grandpa in the tractor, so they had a mission...to walk as far as they had to to see them. It was quite a distance back, so we sang songs, pointed out all the different colors we could see and made animal noises. We had a really great time and in no time at all, we were there. We talked to them for a few minutes and then proceeded to trek across the rest of the field up to grandpa and grandma's house. Grandma was surprised to see us and even more surprised that the girls had walked that whole way without having to be carried. We stayed just a few minutes and then headed back out the door and across the field to where grandpa was. The girls were running around, jumping off all the rocks and just having a great time. Then grandpa asked if they wanted a ride back to the house in the tractor. Of course, they jumped on that and had a fun ride back. Maggie was so cute....she was waving at everyone and anyone she saw. You'd think she was some beauty pageant queen. I was so proud of those little girls. They walked a long way with very little help.

Yesterday we decided to go back into the field. There was some rather large rocks back there that I wanted for landscaping, so I had to go back and mark the ones I wanted. The girls ran back and we decided that while we were back there, we'd take some pictures. They picked out the rocks they liked, I marked them and then they played for a while. I hope you enjoy the next few pictures. I thought they turned out great!

It's Been So Long

It's been such a long time since I've gotten on to blog anything. We've been so busy. It seems that the time is just flying by and I haven't gotten anything done. I've been so busy with school things. It's gone from District and State Solo and Ensemble to now practicing for the upcoming musical at school. I've been going in almost every day or at the very least, every evening. As soon as Marc walks in the door from work, I leave. But I love my job and it does get me out of the house. For those of you who are in the area and want to see a really good show with some great acting and singing, Plymouth High School is putting on "Grease" May 2nd and 3rd. It's going to be a great show. The kids are doing wonderfully! I am playing in the pit orchestra along with 7 other high school students. The music is fun and also very challenging. But I love it!!!

The girls are growing so fast. It seems like they're eating me out of house and home. And I know it will only get worse. The girls have shot right up and thinned right down (though we haven't ever been worried about the latter)! They have really enjoyed the warmer weather. Getting outside has been great! I think we were all suffering from a little cabin fever. We spent 4 hours outside last Saturday evening just running around, flying kites, playing on the swings and slide, watching Marc fly (or crash, rather) his plane and just enjoying our time together.

Emma has finished her very first milestone - kindergarten! She has learned so much so quickly. And she loves learning. She knows all her numbers and how to write them, all the letters of the alphabet and how to write those and she can even write sentences! But I think what I love the most is that she LOVES to read!! And she's reading a lot with very little help. Her longest book to date - 63 pages! We're very proud of her! And so are her sisters. So much so that they ask her to read them books now instead of me. And you know what? I love it! I love to see her getting lost in a book - her imagination racing.

And now I must go! It seems like we're always running from this place to that. I am looking forward to summer vacation and spending a little more time around my home. I've got lots of landscaping and yard work to do. But I am dreaming of the day when I can just go outside, hang out with my girls and not have to worry about going into work. I know I sound like an old lady, but I miss my family. I've got an awesome family! I am so thankful for Marc and the girls! I love them all dearly!
